Summary
I lead a design team, UI, UX, strategy creating future concepts and product launches for Santander App.


Problem Statement:
User research determined a number of issues customers have had when using Santanders app with regard to understanding how the app works, transferring money between accounts, paying people and business and managing their money.
Approach
Phase 1: Using a combination of user testing (card sorting and interviews) we determined what we felt was the best strategy for changes that would have immediate impact. This included changing the layout of the app where buttons and elements that are used regularly are easily accessible. This included elements that are specific to when you are using your phone (finding an ATM or contacting the bank if your card has been declined or lost).
Phase 2: Make it easier to see your various accounts side by side and make payments or to transfer money. This was all created to be used with one hand while a user was out and about.
Phase 3: Taking Santanders current Spendalytics app and adding into the current banking app to allow users to get instant access to their spending trends and to allow the bank to use third party white labels and open banking to make suggestions on how their users could save money.
