Summary:
I lead the design team, UI, UX, strategy for new development of Kayak’s app and viewing system.

Problem Statement:
Kayak is a world leader in the travel industry. The current issue reducing the number of clicks and steps users need to take when booking holidays and how do we allow the holiday to come to users more than then current feeling to endless parameters. Is there a way to set a few specifics and ask for reminders when what you are looking for becomes available?
Approach
After a recent redesign, the Kayak app still had a number of UX and UI issues that needed refining further. A users access to their setting as well as a homepage that still uses airport codes (that people might not know) or quick access to previous holiday searches was a top priority.
The current app also has a large number of buttons at the top of the screen that restrict one handed usage.
The refined design keeps the look and feel of the recent redesign while improving the users ability to navigate their way through more quickly and easily. This also gives them more simplified elements to reduce frustration is some of the more clunky elements of the app
